RISE Partnership Summit- Live Painting Event

  • 1717 Innovation Center 1717 East Cary Street Richmond, VA, 23223 United States (map)

Completed and purchased live painting from the Root to Rise Summit

This painting pays homage to the roots of Jackson Ward, Richmond, Virginia; a small black community that was once the mecca of business, culture, and community for black businesses and people. In the present day, there is now a major interstate highway built in the center of the Jackson Ward, and was abandoned by the city of Richmond. The Jackson Ward Collective (one of the organizations in the partnership) strives to not only rebuild this once vibrant community, but also properly educate people on business etiquette, practices, and community involvement. Being able to create a painting that highlights both organizations and also showcase the beautiful history of Jackson Ward was nothing short of amazing.
